And all this happens on the background of the deliberations on “who we are, the Kazakhs?” Khanshas, princesses, regents, rulers of the clan and shield maidens – the film draws a parallel between different women’s fates, raises questions about the gender and national identity and also studies the female face of Power on the examples of the Turkic-Mongolian states on the territory of the Great Steppe.
